Whether it is because it doesn’t fit your industry or business model, the first step is whether it’s a tactic you can properly use. This is not to say stay away from any tactic that makes you slightly uncomfortable, but really vet the idea for its usefulness.
- Does It Work? The second step is to give the tactic a try. If a piece of advice says, “Your Facebook ad content should be 3 to 4 paragraphs of text.” Run two ads at the same time where the only difference is the content length. See how people react to the ads to see whether the advice actually works.
- Ask an Advisor! Check your network to see if they’ve tried to employ similar tactics. There is strength in numbers. If multiple people thoroughly tried it and everyone says that “hit marketing trend” is no use. Chances are it’s no use.
